Shanghai loves a success story and we’ve got one for you this morning. Xinfab, the DIY creative space with lasers and 3-D printers announced last night that they’ve generated enough interest to keep on keeping on in Shanghai in a new location, despite the recent shut down—and they were surprised by where that interest came from.

*** The new lab will still be in Jing'an closer to Jing'an Temple, but they're not ready to disclose the exact address just yet. They are sharing though that they were offered a free space and their pretty stoked about it. Jade one of the team leaders at Xinfab said:

"We are very moved by the kindness, these people are sincerely just trying to help and have asked nothing in return...we got offered a free space in the city center, which in my opinion is a miracle and very unlikely to happen in any other big city around the world."

She also added most support came from locals who wanted to keep the artistic DIY space alive. They'll reveal the big helpers at the launch of the new space--there’s no official opening date yet, but they’re aiming for May. The date will be announced via WeChat: xin_fab.
