Here's What We Know About Christmas Markets Getting Canceled

Some markets have been either called off or postponed, but many more are still going ahead. For now.

It’s officially one month till Christmas, which means we should be waist deep in Christmas Markets, with mulled wine stains on our jackets and pretzel crumbs on our chin. Unfortunately, things are looking a little dicey over in Pudong and regulations about gatherings are changing. The Tastebuds Christmas Market and Jing’an Christkindlmarkt 2020 have both been postponed, and the The Pearl 6th Annual Christmas Market has been cancelled. Oh no.

For now, the Paulaner Christmas Market (a fan favorite), Leewah Christmas Fair, Qiantan Festival of Life – FOW Winter Market, the Christmas Bazaar at Geneva, BISS Puxi Winter Bazaar, and Christmas Bazaar at Awesome Kids Academy are still going ahead. But if you're pinning any of your holiday cheer on markets or public events, keep an eye on the relevant WeChat channels in case they suffer a similar fate in the days to come.
