Inside the Diploma Programme at SCIS

An Immersive Learning Afternoon at SCIS

As students move closer to their pre-university years, families often ask the same question:

What makes the IB Diploma Programme both academically rigorous and deeply supportive of individual learning paths?

At Shanghai Community International School (SCIS), the school believes the best way to answer that is not through a presentation, but by letting students experience it for themselves.

On December 11, the SCIS IBDP leadership team will host an exclusive, small-group event designed especially for prospective Grade 8–10 families who are exploring the transition into the IB Diploma Programme.

What Makes This Event Unique?

A Student-centered Experience

Students will participate in two short, high-engagement sample lessons — ranging from TOK to Chemistry, Psychology, Business, and Design. These sessions mirror the DP's inquiry-driven, discussion-rich approach.

A True 'Inside the Classroom' Perspective

The afternoon is intentionally crafted for students to feel the intellectual spark, teacher connection, and academic culture thatdefine the DP. Parents are welcome to accompany their children.

Designed for Prospective Families Only

To ensure a meaningful and personalized experience, spaces are reserved exclusively for families exploring Grade 9–11 entry at SCIS.

Through this session, you will

  • Understand why the DP is the world's preferred pre-university pathway
  • Experience how rigor and personalisation coexist
  • See how students from different curriculums transition smoothly into the DP
  • Meet the teachers who make learning relational, challenging, and joyful
  • Explore the environment where curiosity and independence flourish

This is not an open lecture —
It's an immersive learning journey designed to help your child imagine themselves as a DP learner at SCIS.

Limited Spots — Registration Required

To preserve the hands-on nature of the event, attendance is capped.
