LABELHOOD HOUSE (796 Julu Road) is running a "Black Pottery" concept store until April 20.
Nike teams up with Shanghai's Labelhood for a limited-edition take on the Shox Z Calistra reworked into a Mary Jane silhouette that blends retro elegance with actual performance tech.
The concept pulls from Chinese "black pottery" (Longshan culture, aka eggshell pottery). You see it in the glossy black patent leather smooth, reflective, almost ceramic-like with subtle embossed textures that echo the grain of the material. Inside, it flips to all red: bold, saturated, and clean.
Design-wise:
Single buckle + round toe = classic Mary Jane
Shox cushioning in the heel = still very Nike
Red/black color-blocked midsole = strong contrast without overdoing it
Mini Swoosh + red lining = small details, but they hit
It's one of those collabs that doesn't scream. More like a quiet, well-executed crossover between heritage reference and streetwear.
