For contemporary dance and ballet lovers this Saturday will see a rare opportunity to the Introdans perform at the Majestic Theatre. Contemporary dance is the title given to a collection of modern and post-modern dance styles created in the 20th century. The Introdans present modern ballet productions on the themes Old masters, New partners, and Young talent. Introdans is one of the top four dance companies in the Netherlands, and have performed extensively the world over. Their sole performance in Shanghai will be part of their 2006 Tour Asia, also seeing stages in HK, Shanghai, and Singapore. It will be only their 2nd performance in China ever, after the Shanghai Int'l Arts Festival in 2004. Only a few companies achieve the audience numbers realized by Introdans - in the 2004/05 season there were over 100,000 visitors. Introdans presents modern ballet productions on the themes Old masters, New partners, Young talent. A range of choreographers create ballets for Introdans in which classical elements are combined with modern techniques. This will be contemporary dance at its very best.
