This year's Fuxing Jazz Festival came with its many awarded international bands from across the globe as well Shanghai's favourite local artists like Coco and his band the Possicobilities, and JZ's All Star Big Band among many others. While the sun wasn't shining as brightly as the previous few weeks, it was nevertheless a perfect weekend in the park. We brought along our picnic basket and blankets to bask in the wonderful music over each of the 3 days. Shanghai has a long history with Jazz, and the organisers of The Fuxing International Jazz Festival aims to put Shanghai back on the map of the Jazz world - and the amazing audience in attending the festival show for certain that Shanghai's love affair with Jazz continues to be very strong. Each day had a star headline; however it was Sunday that really climaxed with Ochun lifting the audience up onto their feet with Cuban and Latin beats, before ending with the Wallace Rooney Sextext, which put a perfect cap on the Sunday afternoon in the park.
