Coming to Shanghai, spreading heartbreak, dejection, agony, bitterness, despair, loneliness, and a little bit of mirth is Zagreb, Croatia's world famous Museum of Broken Relationships, which is exactly what it sounds like: a traveling exhibition of artifacts bearing witness to loves lost and loves squandered. Typical display piece: an axe mounted on the wall, donated by a Berliner who used it to chop up their ex-lover's furniture. Other items include photographs, love letters, discarded keepsakes and mementoes, and the general leftover detritus from relationships, for whatever reason, that have gone sour, sourced worldwide since 2003.
