Thauma is a visual theatre work by Spanish creator La Mula, presented as a “visual poem” without dialogue or a traditional storyline. Through mysterious objects and strange creatures moving on stage, the performance invites audiences to experience moments of surprise, curiosity, and imagination. The Asia premiere of La Mula’s work brings a wordless theatrical experience shaped by visual performance and new mime.
Thauma is a “visual poem” with no words and no story. There are no spoken lines on stage; instead, mysterious objects and unusual creatures create a constantly changing visual world. Some moments are humorous, while others create a sense of mystery and tension.
The title “Thauma” comes from the ancient Greek word for “wonder.” The work explores the simple experience of being surprised by the world, without trying to explain or define what audiences should see.
The performance asks audiences to recall moments when a small detail or unexpected experience left them speechless.

La Mula is a visual theatre creator from Barcelona, Spain. The creative team is described as an artistic descendant of French visual puppet master Philippe Genty.
Thauma is La Mula’s Asia premiere.
With no dialogue and no traditional narrative, Thauma offers a different way of experiencing theatre through movement, objects, and visual imagination. It is suitable for audiences interested in new mime and visual theatre.
The performance runs for approximately 60 minutes and is recommended for audiences aged 12 and above.
