Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich makes his China debut with a solo recital dedicated entirely to J.S. Bach's works for unaccompanied violin. Performing three of Bach's most celebrated sonatas and partitas, the concert presents a rare opportunity to hear one of today's leading young violinists in an intimate solo setting.

Daniel Lozakovich's first solo recital in China is devoted entirely to J.S. Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin—works often regarded as the pinnacle of the violin repertoire. Demanding both technical mastery and profound musical insight, these pieces ask a single violinist to convey melody, harmony, and counterpoint simultaneously.

The program features three cornerstone works from the collection: Sonata No. 1 in G minor, Partita No. 3 in E major, and the monumental Partita No. 2 in D minor. Bach has long been central to Lozakovich's artistic development, and the violinist has described the composer's music as requiring complete honesty: "When playing Bach, there is nothing to hide—you simply reveal your true self."

About the Artist

Daniel Lozakovich
Born in Stockholm in 2001, Daniel Lozakovich made his solo debut at the age of nine alongside violinist Vladimir Spivakov. He studied with Eduard Wulfson in Geneva and earned his master's degree in 2021.

Signed by Deutsche Grammophon at just 15 years old, Lozakovich has since built an international career performing with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Munich Philharmonic, Orchestre de Paris, London Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He has collaborated with conductors including Klaus Mäkelä, Riccardo Chailly, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Andris Nelsons, Christoph Eschenbach, Nathalie Stutzmann, and Tarmo Peltokoski.

During the 2025/26 season, he appears with orchestras across Europe, Asia, and the Americas and begins a residency with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. In March 2026, he gives the world premiere of Pascal Dusapin's Second Violin Concerto, a work written for him, with Ensemble Utopia conducted by Teodor Currentzis.

Lozakovich is also an acclaimed recording artist. His Bach Violin Concertos topped classical charts in Germany and France, while his live recording None but the Lonely Heart was selected as a Gramophone Editor's Choice and recognized among the finest recordings of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto. In 2024, he signed an exclusive recording contract with Warner Classics.

He performs on the 1713 "ex-Sancy" Stradivari violin, generously loaned by LVMH.
