A damn fine spread over at Yuyintown Basement with a trio of diverse local acts taking the stage before the holiday season comes to an end. You’ve got esteemed Shanghai rock and roll royalty Lu Chen (of Top Floor Circus fame), bringing his folk act alongside The Flying Game, who have been bringing sincere ingenuity to their indie sound for quite some time - filling their irresistible melodies with dynamic instrumentation and angst-ridden emo aplomb. Rounding out the lineup are no channel, but... (a gig guide writer’s nightmare of a name) - an unruly and often intriguing mashup of post-rock, post-metal, post-punk, and whatever other post you wanna throw in there.
