UK indie favorites PREP return to China for two special shows in Beijing and Shanghai following their sold-out 2023 China tour. Known for blending R&B, electronica, funk, and jazz into their signature pop sound, the band will bring their expanded live show to Shanghai in 2026.

After their sold-out China tour in 2023, PREP returns for two special shows in Beijing and Shanghai. Presented by New Noise, the Shanghai show will take place at Star@Culture Dream Hall on October 5, 2026.

PREP combines elements of R&B, electronica, funk, and jazz to create a polished pop sound. The band has become one of the popular Western acts touring in Asia, with sold-out venues across the region and collaborations with artists including Sunset Rollercoaster, Phum Viphurit, and James Alyn from HYBS.

The band is also known for their rendition of Harry Styles’ hit single “As It Was”, which received millions of streams worldwide.

About the Band

Formed in 2015, PREP brings together four musicians with different backgrounds to create songs influenced by contemporary R&B, electronica, and the smooth sounds of late 1970s and early 1980s music.

Their sound combines modern production with influences from jazz, West Coast rock and soul, studio techniques of the 1980s, and Japanese City Pop. The band has continued developing their live performances with an expanded six-piece live band.

After 10 years together, PREP continues to explore timeless songwriting and atmospheric production through albums including Prep (2020) and The Programme (2024).
