This is a familiar repertoire reimagined in a more intimate, jazz-driven setting. Whitney Houston’s songs are deeply embedded in pop history, and hearing them reworked by an international jazz band gives them a different emotional angle—less about studio perfection, more about live expression. The presence of a world-class saxophonist like Walter Blanding also adds weight for jazz listeners, while the vocal interpretation by Revetta Conley keeps the focus on emotional delivery. It works well as a relaxed evening out where familiar songs are reintroduced in a more personal, improvisational way.
