French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet presents a marathon recital performing all of Ravel’s solo piano works in one evening. Spanning nearly three hours, the program traces Ravel’s evolution from early compositions to his mature masterpieces.

This marathon recital is dedicated entirely to Maurice Ravel’s works for solo piano, performed in full in a single evening. Across three sections, the program moves from Ravel’s early compositions, through technically demanding masterpieces, to later works reflecting tribute and remembrance.
The first section includes works such as Sérénade grotesque, Menuet antique, Pavane pour une infante défunte, Jeux d’eau, Sonatine, and Miroirs, presenting Ravel’s early development and stylistic language.
The second section focuses on technically demanding works, including Menuet sur le nom de Haydn, Valses nobles et sentimentales, and Gaspard de la nuit.
The third section features shorter pieces such as À la manière de Borodine, À la manière de Chabrier, Prélude, and concludes with Le tombeau de Couperin.

An award-winning pianist with an extensive international career, Bavouzet has performed with orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra, NHK Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, BBC Symphony, and London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has collaborated with conductors such as Vladimir Jurowski, Gianandrea Noseda, and Vasily Petrenko.
His recordings have received multiple awards from Gramophone, BBC Music Magazine, and others. His album Ravel: Complete Works for Solo Piano was praised by Gramophone for its “seasoned mastery” and “stylish perception.”
