An upmarket fast-food burger chain; cheapish burgers, fries, shakes and brownies. The big neon lights and booth lay-out makes it feel like it should be an American import, but it's all Shanghai, baby. The hamburgers have a solid patty and bun, though it's brioche and some people aren't in that. They've got a good selection of draft beer as well as pitchers. It's from the titular Charlie, an entrepreneur who's been responsible for a series of expat staples, including Captain Rooster and Piro's. In 2017, they expanded from two-ish locations to five in the space of a couple of months.
