Founded in 2009 by a group of Southbank skaters, the brand became known for its irreverent graphics, VHS-style skate videos, and collaborations with everyone from Gucci and Ralph Lauren to Nike and Barbour. Often described as the UK’s answer to Supreme, PALACE leans less hype-machine and more inside joke — equal parts technical skatewear, British humor, and retro sports nostalgia. Its Shanghai location at Zhangyuan marks the brand’s first permanent store in mainland China, following a short-lived Julu Lu pop-up back in 2019. The space sits inside the restored Zhangyuan complex in Jing’an and launches with a Shanghai-exclusive “Shang-Hi” capsule collection featuring local references like the Oriental Pearl Tower and a zodiac rabbit mascot. Expect limited drops, skate staples, graphic tees, outerwear, and the kind of queues usually associated with cult streetwear launches.
