New Star is one of the longest-running and most consistent bathhouses in Shanghai, and also the best for the money. They don't do any gimmicks like free-flow fruit or seafood here, it's just the basics done well. It's a Korean-style bathhouse, divided into two main sections: the locker rooms and baths, and a co-ed common area with saunas, cold rooms, chilling areas, a massage room (paid), massage chairs, a movie room, and - in the summer - a swimming pool. They've also got a passable Korean restaurant (though nothing compared to the options in K-Town down the street) plus draft beer served in iced mugs. You could easily spend a whole day in here, and actually you can stay the night too but you need to bring your passport for that. Ticket is around 100rmb but can be around 20rmb cheaper if you buy on Dianping or their WeChat account. If you're feeling like you need a reset or detox, or you're looking for something to do on a rainy day, this is one of the best places you could go in Shanghai.They also have a branch in Pudong.
