The 28th Shanghai International Film Festival is back from June 12 to 21, with screenings happening across 52 cinemas in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region. Screening schedules drop June 3, and tickets go on sale June 5 at 12pm.
This year's SIFF lineup will once again take over pretty much the entire city, with 47 screening venues spread across all 16 districts and the five towns, plus additional partner cinemas in Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo and Hefei. For local movie people, this is basically the annual period where everyone suddenly starts speaking in screening times, venue abbreviations and whether a print is worth crossing town for.
There are also more premium-format theatres this year, with additional IMAX, Dolby Cinema and XR screenings spread across the lineup. And yes, the Dune double features are happening.
The full screening schedule lands June 3. Shanghai ticket sales open June 5 at 12pm, with Yangtze River Delta screenings going on sale June 6.
