It feels like fall with a ton of warm, fuzzy activities on for this weekend. From the rescheduled Commune Market, which will bring food, drinks, crafts and a massive book swap, to two new art exhibitions and more, there's plenty going on.

*** Commune Market is back this October with new designers, music, booze & beers on tap and gourmet food at Yong Ping Lane which'll be the market's home till spring. This time around there will also be a Commune Book Swap tent. Free entry. Liliane Willens, author of Stateless in Shanghai, will give an hourlong talk followed by a Q&A. She'll be speaking on the contract between China and Russia to build the Chinese Eastern Railroad at the end of the 19th century and all the drama that followed. Shanghai Awakening brings back their The Healing Arts Festival with over 35 booths doing everything wellness. Now in its fifth year, the festival's self-proclaimed mission is to bring like-minded people together seeking "healthier and happier lives." Japanese artist Mika Shimauchi has a new a series of work on her ponderings about life and death. You know -- the light stuff. Will run at Shun Art Gallery from this weekend until November. Chilean screen printing and ceramic artist Camila Pinogay brings her ceramic pieces to Urbancross. Free entry. *
