Looks like it’s gonna be a rainy one Shanghai. But, hey, in these trying times, don't let your mood grow as dark as the sky. Here are some community events on for this weekend that might make things a bit brighter. We got a day of free work outs at Z&B, a yoga-brunch hybrid, a Green Initiatives' flea market, the Anken Life Summer Fest, and BULA at NakedHub. Read on for details.

Z&B Gym has been open for sometime now, but they are hosting a Grand Opening Day to show off their new equipment and group classes. On Saturday, June 24 there will be free work outs and activities running from 10am to 2pm. In the morning, there will be a gym circuit where trainers can show participants how to properly use their equipment including their new technogym machines and in the afternoon there will be a free bootcamp group class. Join Green Initiatives in our efforts to collect and sell gently used clothing, kitchen appliances, electronics and sportswear (no furniture) at the Recycle for a Cause Flea Market Sale. The Flea Market aims to repurpose unwanted items to reduce waste. All proceeds will go to support underfunded education in Kenya. In addition to the second-hand sale, there will be F&B vendors (an assortment of whole and vegan-friendly foods and cocktails), fair trade and handmade accessories, an origami workshop, henna tattoo and yoga classes- available with pre-registration. Price: 20rmb entry, includes raffle ticket entry, discounts Yoga class registration is 80rmb for a one hour class, entry and raffle included.

This Saturday the 24, JoyEAT presents a yoga-brunch hybrid that will make any yogi weak in the knees. The event will include a 1 hour Hatha Yoga class taught by Kim Dunn followed up by four course brunch with a special “recovery" menu created by Pierre Jean Arpurt. Recovery food includes: either a shrimp salad or tuna tartare with avocado mouse, and eggs with spinach puree. Grapefruit infused water is also promised. Oh boy. Fun starts at 9am and the whole yoga-brunch will cost you 177rmb.

On Saturday June 24, BULA is the latest attempt at a fitness market by Naked Hub. There will be yoga, dancing, and other fitness classes all mashed into a one day event. BULA has partnered with more than 80 venues around Shanghai and aims to make working out more accessible in an urban environment. A full day pass for the event costs 150rmb and 80rmb for a single class pass.

On Saturday, BULA the fitness market by Naked Hub will have lots of indoor workouts to choose from. There will be yoga, dancing, and other fitness classes all mashed into a one day event. Sunday, June 25, Anken Life will be hosting a Summer Open Day with a focus on food and fitness from 10am to 5pm. In the morning session there will be a Crossfit bootcamp (10am), Aboro boxing (11am), Smoothie workshop (11am), and Becycle Spinning (12pm). There will also be food from different healthy vendors, and if you miss any of the workouts they'll repeat from 3-5pm. There's 50rmb entrance fee, all workouts and workshops included.

This Sunday, Anken Life will be hosting a Summer Open Day from 10am to 5pm. The food and fitness festival has been moved indoors, due to the rain, but all workshops will go on as planned. In the morning session there will be a Crossfit bootcamp (10am), Aboro boxing (11am), Smoothie workshop (11am), and Becycle Spinning (12pm).
