Editor's Note: This roundup comes from Martina, a new contributor who explores Shanghai through a mix of curiosity, FOMO, and a rotating list of niche interests (fashion, subcultures, changing her hair, etc.). You can also find her on Instagram and Xiaohongshu.
What: Three days of vintage designer stuff at Sample, led by Berlin's Radio Tirana Archive. They're known for rare 90s and early-2000s runway pieces — Prada, Miu Miu, that kind of thing — and they're bringing pieces from China-based sellers and KOL wardrobes too. Opening night has DJs, drinks, and Yunnan BBQ.
Why it's interesting: This one's less weekend market, more fashion head moment. Proper archive pieces, solid curation, and not something you see in Shanghai often.

What: A daytime New Year market taking over the stretch between Riink, Juanita's, and Parlay in Shangkang Li. It's a mix of food vendors, small brands, and independent designers, with food and drink deals from the venues and an after-party at Riink once it gets dark.
Why it's interesting: Feels like a proper community thing. Chill, international crowd, good energy. Not just people selling trinkets.

What: Small in-store event at the SICK RAG store with tattoo artists York Yeh and Sic Lee doing live sketching, plus zines, prints, and limited-edition clothes. Beer is on HOPSCRAFT.
Why it's interesting: Feels like something out of a different timeline. Very specific, very handmade, and not trying to be polished.
