Your bi-weekly dose of feel good community events happening around town.
Hey Shanghai get your weekly dose of culture, only the highest brow stuff for you. There's this month's Unravel, which'll be in partnership with the Shanghai Literary Review, and bring 6 live stories around the theme Lost in Translation in the brand new Columbia Circle. Should be saucy. Also, free zines, TransPride, and more artsy things to do this week.

This month Unravel is teaming up with The Shanghai Literary Review for a night of stories around theme, "Lost in Translation" at the brand new Parlour in Columbia Circle. Drinks start at 6.30pm and stories at 7.30, per usual there will be 6 story tellers that are selected before the event. This time TSLR will also be in the house selling copies of TSLR Vol. 1 & 2 and the new mag Concrete. Advance tickets are 50rmb, and that comes with a drink. For 120rmb you can get a drink and a copy The Shanghai Literary Review. Doesn't get more community than a local zine! Here's a launch event for A Shanghai Poetry Zine's 5th printed edition. Readings from the zine, open mic and extended happy hour. No entry fee and free copies of the zine'll be passed out. Starts 7.30pm. Just the artsiest week; Alina Levyz, recent winner of Art Battle Shanghai, will be giving a casual talk at Un caffe. Explore her work, ask questions, and have a drink. Followed by live music and a mini art show where you can buy Alina's work if you so desire. Doors open 7.30pm, tickets are 30rmb in advance, 40rmb on the door. ShanghaiPRIDE's still (officially) a week away, but this weekend is TransPride, an all day event with educational activities, films, sharing sessions, and performances. Free entry but don't be rude you have to RSVP. Runs from 12-8.30pm. All details on their site, and stay tuned for all the Pride happening next week.
