Most of Xintiandi's south block has been shut down until around 1pm today for "electrical maintenance." Most of the office buildings in the complex have also been given a day off (eeyyy), and some shops might remain closed throughout the day. But at least the restaurants should be open again in time for a late lunch. Just keep that in mind if you're planning to stop by.

You may also have noticed heightened security on the metro and a lot more traffic today. We can only speculate which recently feted head of state is visiting our fair city to warrant such disruption to our lunch plans.
