[Friday Five]: Andy Stott, Wonky Kong & Break Dance Battles

By Aug 24, 2018 Nightlife
Fridays! They just keep coming. This weekend's got a handful of decent stuff, including UK's Andy Stott at ALL, T.Williams at Elevator, Nushu and Bambii at Dada, movies at Cinker and breakdancing at SNIEC. Wait what?

Wonky Kong presents grime, bass and house artist's T.Williams' first and only China appearance, going through the UK funky, grime & soulful house grooves. With DJs Siesta, Turner, Andy S. 100rmb!

Big booking down at futuristic club ALL as the Asian Union crew brings in UK electronic artist Andy Stott. Stott's growling, rolling and uneasy industrial electronic music has brought him to the forefront of the techno and industrial worlds in recent years and made him a darling of magazines like The Wire. With MIIIN, Howell, Shy Shine and L~N. No price mentioned. Hmmm...

Night Café, the third edition in the New Ways for the New Wave series, is dedicated to rebelling against the mundane. They’ll debut exclusive cocktails dreamt up by Seesaw Coffee and Cinker’s mixologist, bring you quirky film classics Office Space (a satire on modern corporate office life) and Coffee & Cigarettes (pop icons debating life over coffee and cigarettes) screened on the rooftop terrace, with music by Yeti Dis:ko.

Beginning as an inclusive workshop space for femme, femme-identifying, queer, LGBTQI and non-binary to learn DJing basics, NÜSHÙ 女术 presents its first club night with Bambii from Toronto, Canada. 80rmb.

Here's something different, a break dance battle with a grand prize of 2,500rmb. Limited to 80 dancers, the competition will be open to spectators for two days. Kicks off at 9pm. Scan the QR code on the flyer for more info.
