MAO Livehouse Shanghai Celebrates Its Tenth Birthday

A lot can happen in ten years. Cash can all but disappear from everyday life, Starbucks can build the world’s biggest coffee shop, and thousands of food and beverage ventures prosper then vanish in the blink of an eye. One thing that has firmly stayed put for the past decade – MAO Livehouse! And they are celebrating with We Are Young on September 30.

The concert will be showcasing homegrown talent, with Sonic Youth/Velvet Underground-influenced indie rock group Carsick Cars heading the bill. Joining them will be dream funk enthusiasts Peace & Wave, experimental psychedelic rock band Mirrors, Hangzhou-based Math Rockers GriffO, new guys on the scene Room Trio and singer/songwriter Chen Bolin. There'll also be a secondhand market aaaaaand free flow on selected alcoholic refreshments. Tickets start at 180rmb and are available on SmartTicket.
