The new Yanqing Lane on Yanqing Lu is a newly opened lifestyle street project that is quietly sliding into a familiar Shanghai pattern: a leafy road gets a refresh, a cluster of brands moves in, and suddenly everyone is doing a very curated version of a casual stroll.
This week, it fully opened to the public, and already feels busy for a weekday afternoon, with a steady flow of mostly young visitors. The project is a compact lifestyle block made up of pop-ups, cafés, and China-first store openings, with more tenants still rolling in.
The lineup is still largely made up of China-based lifestyle brands, with the standout being SOU·SOU — the Kyoto label known for its 800+ textile patterns and cross-category lifestyle collaborations, alongside ULT., the new barista champion-led coffee shop that's already drawing queues.
If you're expecting a more finished version of the street, it might make sense to come back closer to the end of May, when more tenants are fully open. ULT., for example, is set to officially start service on May 23. That said, if you want to catch it in this still-forming, slightly looser phase, it's already open and walkable now. You can also easily extend the route to nearby FUFU Shanghai on Donghu Lu for a more complete wandering.
