Here's a ticketing thing that made us feel all mushy inside for a change. The Shanghai Children's Art Theatre is hosting in a couple of immersive experiences designed for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Two shows, adapted from classic stories, are told in an inclusive manner to an audience of just six kids and their accompanying guardian. Details after the jump.

*** The theater company behind it is Bamboozle, a UK-based troupe founded in 1994, that specializes in performances for children and young people with learning difficulties. This one's a 40-minute, English-language, immersive experiences, drawing on Shakespeare's Tempest to create scenes evoking seas, ships, islands, Ariel, the creature Caliban, and the original Dumbledore, Prospero. The audience gets to wander around the sets, touch the props, and interact at their own pace. Perfect for kids aged 6-14 with special needs (PMLD). Audience limit is 6 kids plus guardian. Showings started on April 13, but continue until April 22, so you can still catch it. Tickets available on SmartTicket. Bamboozle also adapted Michael Morpurgo’s Scottish fairytale, the Gentle Giant. The eponymous gentle giant, rejected by the locals in the nearby fishing village, leads a lonely life on an island in a lake. We can relate. One day, he rescues a girl from drowning. Friendship, coming-togetherness, and the overcoming of prejudices ensues. It's in English, suitable for children ages 6-14 with special needs (PMLD). Audience limit is 6 children plus their guardian. There're multiple showings a day, starting end of April. Tickets available on SmartTicket.
