The Shanghai Literary Festival 2005, held in conjunction with The Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival, returns to M on the Bund

The festival brings together recognized literary luminaries and hot new rising stars for a series of thought-provoking discussions on a wide range of topics sure to pique the interest of all interested in books, authors and the worlds they describe.

LitFest audiences will hear from two Man Booker Prize winners: current holder Alan Hollinghurst (The Line of Beauty) and the 1982 winner (for Schindler's Ark), literary legend Thomas Keneally, as well as exciting new writers.

Audiences will also gain insight into the New Zealand literary scene, with a quartet of fine New Zealand authors, including distinguished children's writer Margaret Mahy. A panel on New Zealand literature will kick off the New Zealand writer sessions.
