A solo show of works by photojournalist Sebastião Salgado goes on display at Shanghai Natural History Museum this month. The exhibit, Genesis, comprises of 245 works snapped over an eight-year journey through 32 different countries. Divided up into five ecosystem-themed sections, they are Planet South, Sanctuaries, Africa, Northern Spaces and Amazonia and Pantanal. Highlights include angry-looking clouds hovering over the Grand Canyon, the carved sand dunes of Tadrart, and an elephant in Zambia’s Kafue National Park beating a hasty retreat into to the bush. It's a touring show, and has been well-received at some 20 institutions internationally so far. Tickets cost 30rmb a time, with concessions available.
