Brunch sets at Villandry in the quaint Shanghai Science Hall start at 280rmb (+15%) for chicken or fish and go up to 598rmb for lobster. These all include bread (great bread here), a choice of salad and "oatmeal", a main, a dessert, and bottomless coffee, juice, milk, or tea. Those who imbibe this early can add free-flow beer / wine for 188rmb, or Moet for 488rmb. Service is good and the vibe is really old-school and relaxed, if not slightly stuffy. Food is solid, especially the sea bass, though the 100 year-old building -- the biggest French villa in Shanghai -- is a big part of the charm here. In the warmer months you can dine out on the patio overlooking the lawn and courtyard. Low-lighting and lots of red makes this one good for romantic dates or long conversations with close friends.
