Art In The City returns to Shanghai in 2016 with a brand new month-long festival format. Think a mix of visual arts, design, fashion, music and innovation, spread out across venues all around town. The main exhibition is called TAKE ME OUT and is all about creative crossover - specifically wearable tech, and objects that are portable extensions of personal expression. Artists include Liu Bolin, Qiu Zhijie and Michael Wolf. Video art project BLAST! is back, with moving image, animation, cartoons and computer-generated videos screening at K11, MoCA Pavilion, CITIC Pacific Plaza, CREATER SPACE, Le Méridien Shanghai Hu Club and THE-MIX-PLACE. A new sound art element, BLAST! Sounds 2016 features music spanning acoustic, electronic, experimental, noise, pop, rock, found and environmental. All of that's being judged by an all-star jury spanning curators, artists, writers, and filmmakers.
