Originally built in the 1930s, the guys behind Italian wine bars Fumo and UVA turned this lane house into a laid–back, affordable, and sharply designed Chinese restaurant in 2015. There's three sections: the restaurant on the the first floor, a cocktail bar on the second (follow the dragon up the stairs…), and a huge garden in the backyard. The food is mostly classic Chinese dishes like jiaozi, fried rice, and noodles, upgraded with contemporary ingredients and hints of Western influence. The wine list naturally includes Italian selections but also bottles from other regions. The house wine, De Martino, is 32rmb a glass, and beer starts around there too. Many small dishes are in the 20–40rmb range but can get up in the 100s for main courses. Would be a fine place for a date or just chatting with friends. They play some nice jazzy hip hop in here, too.
