Amazing experience at this restaurant!
We went there quite late (9pm) at 2 people and the place was crowded, but the staff did everything to welcome us as good as it could (which means very well).
We had to wait 10min for the seats, then the staff (only 1 is speaking correct english, now you know!) took care of us, explaining the way everything work, the hotpot, the meat, the sauce and its different ingredients. Then advised us on the meat to chose: no worries, they provide "true" advises, and if they tell you this meat is like this or lke that, you can trust them 100%, they are more than honest.
We took 1hour to eat, the staff came very often to make sure everything was fine and, for sure, it was!
The meat was very thin and clear, tasteful, beer was big and fresh, perfect.
The only bad points coulb be the location, which is quite far from everything for foreigners, and also the way the restaurant look when you're inside (it's all cheap wood, no real atmosphere except the warmful way the staff help and advise you).
We were 2 people, ordered 3 dishes of meat + few vegetables + 2 beers, and paid 170RMB in total (85RMB each).
To conclude, this place is something to do when you want a different place to have dinner, with amazing food, great staff (even if not really speaking english, as they don't care and will make everything for you), and cheap price looking at the quality.
I will go there again before leaving, that's for sure!

For me Shabu-Shabu is the "sexy" way of saying/eating Hot Pot... Gokohai is not a glamorous restaurant but their food is fantastic and the price super reasonable...
Last time I went to Gokohai it was already 10:30pm on Sunday, no many other options to eat in town at that time but their kitchen closes at 11pm so have it in mind!
Beer prices are possibly the best in town for a restaurant at 8rmb for Asahi draft half pint!!!!
Service was fast and efficient, we ordered 4 different types of meat and choose from there extensive list of vegetables to add to broth, not all of them were available but in their defense it was Sunday late night...
Even thou the meat is probably not the best quality in town, when cooked in your individual DIY broth and then soaked in the sauce its REALLY FANTASTIC!! Pork Belly is my favourite!
We ended up paying the 88rmb ALL (meat) YOU CAN EAT per person plus drinks (loooots of them), total 214rmb per head.
Really a great place to enjoy food and drinks with friends!

Gokohai is an unpretentious locale to do some pre-outing eating with a group, if you are good with chopsticks and know you won't end up splashing dipping sauce all over the front of your nice going-out clothes (d'oh!).
Everyone gets an individual pot, spicy or non-spicy broth (two choices!)
and the menu is basic: various cuts of meat/seafood and a selection of veg. Service was a bit spotty but friendly.
Booze isn't included but it's not too expensive (30 kuai for a carafe of sake) and for our group of five, drinking a couple of beers and some sake added about 80 kuai to our overall bill all together. We each ended up paying approximately 115kuai for all you can eat + booze + a plate of beef sashimi, very lovely but not included in the 88 kuai all you can eat menu.
It also looks like you can sit on the "Terrace" but you don't get much in the way of atmosphere since you are on busy Huahai Lu.
Overall, not impressive but competent and reasonably good value if you like hot pot. We made a big mess and left happy.
