Pinnacle Peak is an Old West-themed steakhouse chain from the States, specializing in big steak portions at workin' man's prices. Their signature dish is "The Cowboy Steak," which is a 21oz monster, grilled over mesquite charcoal.
While the concept is unique - American south west complete with saloon doors and mechanical bull; both the food and service level were all too commonly found in Shanghai.
After we placed our order, we were informed that the place was out of burgers (at a steak joint mind you). Two of us would get our burgers, the other two would have to choose from the more expensive dinner menu instead. BTW there is no lunch set menu as advertised on this site - everything is a la carte.
The waitress didn't ask us how we wanted our burgers done and when asked told us that all burgers come at "7" which means well-done. After challenging her, she told us that this rating comes from the US...where 5 is medium well and 7 is well-done...sigh...besides that nonsense, the food was all but very mediocre. Black pepper fries were very plain with a light sprinkling of black pepper and nothing more. Burgers were a nice try, but light on flavor and relied too much on the sweet butter generously slattered on the buns.
