M1NT is Shanghai's latest membership-style lounge/club/restaurant, perched on the 24th floor of a downtown building. Views from up there are spectacular, as is the long shark tank that graces the entryway. The restaurant is a modern Asian-accented grill, and the club's packed with beautiful people. Roof terrace up top, private access for VIPs, and priority for members, but open to all.

Great location. I had dinner with my friends there. The menu is a bit mixed, somehow i didn't catch what they really want to do, french or japanese or Chinese. But the taste of the food is good. The price is fair consider it is the restaurant on bund. The mananger named staphano seems very polite and welcoming. Service is good and friendly. View is impressive. Will come back again.

I've been to the nightclub side of M1NT before. It's good for a dance in a cool setting, as long as the right DJ/artist is on. I didn't really think of it as a place to just chill out in or eat a meal. I was wrong. A friend persuaded me to try the restaurant side, altho I expected it to be out of my regular price range. Views are just as good, maybe better than in the club. Lounge quite chilled out for a drink before dinner. Food was really tasty. Maitre d' hospitable with good wine knowledge. Value also better than expected, with portions bigger than I could finish. Crispy squid was so good. Next time I'm back for dancing, I know its only a few steps away for a delicious late night snack.

It's a real pity, but this place has gone south very fast. My friends and I would come every weekend before the summer and we would always have great party. Now the people are really gross and the music sucks. The cute Russian bartender is gone from the bar and none of staff can make a proper Cosmo. There are still worse places in Shanghai to go but also there are a lot better.

Been a few times to M1NT. Twice for dinner and drinks. Once just for drinks in the lounge.
PROS: Views are top-notch, no matter where you are in the place. Food is unique Asian/Fusion combination of flavors, result is mouth-watering, excitement to try each new dish as it arrives. Crispy squid and the steak worth going back for again and again. Martinis mixed to perfection, strong. Ask for Chinese bartender Cross - he won some awards. Service good, friendly, no problem in English or Chinese. Decor cool and sleek.
CONS: Toilets are dark. Some don't care for the hedonistic larger than life painting in part of the lounge. Not a lot of beer options.

I always have fun at m1nt! Of course, this definitely one of the more upscale places in Shanghai, so be ready to pay top-ish dollar.
Although one of the reviewers mentioned that the crowd is mostly 30s-40s, my friends and I are in our 20s, but yet we always have fun! Once in awhile, you get a shady foreign businessman who thinks he's big shit just because he's in m1nt/shanghai, but overall, always a good experience!
However, I must point out the disparity of service you get at the bar VS at a private table. The bartenders appear used to the tipping culture, probably due to the deluge of foreigners. They tend to be especially slow without a tip (try 15-20 mins waiting for your change). However, waitstaff at the tables are extremely personalized and great!

Was taken to M1NT the other night, on a first date. I thought he was pushing it a bit, trying to impress me too much, but quickly forgot that once inside. Lounge was perfect for a pre-dinner drink to relax a bit, with soft chairs, and a little privacy. The awesome views give lots of topics for conversation in case you need it! Good mix of locals and expats around the circular bar, I'd say mainly 30s and 40s crowd. Tried the tasting menu as it was our first time and everything was excellent. Service was very efficient, no communication problems, and nobody hanging around watching us, yet somehow always there when we needed something (how do they do it...?) It was a late dinner so the club side was full by the time we got there. Only had a few dances as it was an early morning, but could easily have stayed for more. Next time...

I visit Shanghai often on business. Heard about this club. I thought it was members-only, and that's what it says in the listing here for it. My colleague and I went on a Friday for dinner, and at the reception downstairs (restaurant is on top floor of bldg) they said we did not have to be members to eat there, and they could squeeze us in for dinner. We had to wait about half an hour for a table, as we had not made prior reservations. The lounge next to the restaurant section was really comfortable, with a circular bar to sit around, or lots of separate cozy nooks to sit in. I covet the high-backed purple velvet reading chairs! Views from lounge were incredible, of Bund, Pearl Tower, etc. Drinks well mixed. For dinner, it seems their tasting menu is the better value, but we chose a la carte anyway. We each had a starter, main course, side and dessert, and shared a bottle of wine. Main courses automatically came with a bowl of rice. Portions were substantial but the taste was even better. I was surprised at a lot of the flavor combinations, but pleasantly so. Bill came in under 1000RMB for the both of us. Service was very professional. Will be back next time through the city.
CONS: Bathrooms very cool with floor-ceiling windows, but too dark to re-apply lipstick. Bring a flashlight!
TIPS: Book a table in advance. Go early to enjoy drink in lounge before dinner. Definitely try the crispy squid with lime dressing!

My BF took me for dinner at M1NT last night as a birthday treat. We were both very impressed with the atmosphere and decor. Service was fine, at least by China standards. Both had the set menu which was far to much food for 2 people to finish, but better than leaving hungry.
Only complaint was by the time we left, about midnight, the place was getting pretty crazy with people coming in to the club. So maybe best to go a bit earlier if you don't like those crowds.
Overall a good experience and not as expensive as we assumed if would be. Happy 4th of July!
