Munchies is a cheap, owner-operated American quasi-fast-food restaurant. It's casual and honest and tie-dyed. On offer: typical snack bar and sandwich shop fare like hot dogs, Cincinnati-style chili, burgers, peanut butter shakes. Good for cheap lunches and stoned weekends.

Christ, where do I start...
Just had a delivery (my first experience in out out of this place) from their Jing'an branch. We ordered 2 Cincinnati chilli's and a order of soft tacos.
Do I lead with the pathetically small servings, which I would scoff at if it were a side dish, but a less than half full jello mould is certainly not going to feed me.
Or Should I just get straight into the inedible slop that barely pass for mice and oil with some pepper thrown in... Shocking taste... the texture was even worse.
For some cold mince thrown into a wrap i'm guessing that was our tacos.
Overall I'm just shocked, this place is supposed to be owned and run by a American guy, if this is what he lets lose on people under the banner of "american / mexican" then he should be taken out and executed in front of his family (to quote Jeremy Clarkson)
Do yourself a favor and give this place a miss.

I was at Jing'an that day and couldnt decide on what to eat. Coincidentally me and my boyfriend passed by Munchies (we had enough of burger king and macdonalds) so we decided to pop by and see what Munnchies has to offer.
We headed in and was greeted well by the servers. I ordered the Munchies Burger while my boyfriend ordered some sandwich (i forgot the name for it). I must say the burgers were delicious! warm and juicy, perfect for winter! and most importantly, they are considered to be cheap for such American food in Shanghai.
Good place to satisfy your burger cravings! Will be back to try out other burgers as well. Burger king and macdonalds...you gotta pull up your socks! haha

Best Burgers for instant coronary heart disease in Shanghai. If you like your burgers dripping in fat, this is your heaven. Elvis used to dine here prior to his death.
