Touching Infinity: Art Beyond Timefills the 176-year-old building with more than 160 timekeeping objects, from chunky medieval tower clocks to delicate pocket watches, mechanical dolls, and even watches linked to deep-sea dives and space travel. It's less about staring at luxury watches and more about how humans have obsessed over measuring time for the past 700 years.

Some pieces feel almost magical: a reconstructed 14th-century planetary clock that tracks the sun and moon, 19th-century "mystery clocks" that seem to defy gravity, and automata that answer questions like a creepy Victorian fortune-teller. There's also a section on how China shaped European watchmaking in the 19th century, plus contemporary works by Chinese independent watchmaker Jiao Dayu.

The exhibition runs through March 1, 2026 (with a short Spring Festival break). You don't really need to know much about watches to enjoy this; seeing all the different timepieces up close, big and small, is already pretty fascinating. There's also a paid VR add-on at the venue: a 15-minute time-travel-style experience on Apple Vision Pro, with English narration, pretty fun too. Grab your tickets here.
