The OG Drinkery on Ruijin Lu celebrates five years in the game with five nights of parties. “We’ve been through the good times and the bad, but we’ve always stayed true to what we believe in: a no-fuss bar. A social club where you can grab a good drink and meet good people. Come for one day, or come for all five.” Hell yeah. They’ll have a special anniversary cocktail menu available throughout the entire celebration, with five drinks that represent the last five years, plus different themes, prizes, and more each night, including 9 DJs on Friday and a Love Bang x Drinkery party on Saturday. Free entry as always. Hats off to The Drinkery.

The craft beer-community space-nice hang bar Junto in Jing’an is turning one years young, and they’re throwing down in a major way to celebrate. On Friday and Saturday, expect games, prizes, pass-the-parcel-style chances to win fancy bottles of beer, face painting, balloon animals, piñatas stuffed with brewery merch, magic, clownery, “impossible amounts of birthday cake”, and a bouncy castle, which is only for those 18 and up. Free entry. Hats off to Junto. Fri: 7pm-2am; Sat; 2pm-2am.

Shanghainese dancehall/reggae MC/DJ Jado has a party at C's on Friday called Dubwise: Shanghai Town, with special guest WUKONGOO. Expect many forms of Jamaican sounds, from reggae and ska to jungle and dancehall. Jado is the real deal – this should be a good night in the quintessential Shanghai dive bar.

Promoter Knot is at C-Park club Illum with some new underground trance and club sounds. This Saturday is the fifth season of Knot’s 15 Minutes of Lies and Truth series, and they’re inviting Mongolian-born, Australia-based trance artist CLAIR (白欣) to perform her hybrid live set. Check out CLAIR’s music – it’s wild, and fits Illum’s castle vibe well. Co-headlining the night is Shenzhen trance producer 銀製品 (Agprod) for a trance paradise type DJ set. They’re joined by Kilo-Vee, BX, SilkBoi, and GhostTokyo. Sounds real good.

Dreamy, hypnotic techno producer MAYUDEPTH headlines the night at community-focused club Heim on Changle Lu, with support from Shanghai-based producer Simon Frank, and DJs Floating and Bluecaaat.

"Inspired by the legendary blood scene from Blade, BLOODBATH returns for its fifth anniversary. Once a year, the dancefloor transforms into a scene where horror cinema, industrial aesthetics and uncompromising techno collide. What began as a tribute to one of the most unforgettable moments in cult film history has grown into one of China’s most iconic underground events, drawing ravers from across the country and beyond. For one night only, expect the signature blood shower, immersive production, relentless sound, and an atmosphere where the line between fiction and reality disappears. No reruns. No second chances. Once a year. One night. BLOODBATH V."

Always digging deep for gems from all over the universe, Xiaolaba is one of the city's most interesting DJs. This Sunday, he's playing all night with fellow DJ, Dachen, at this chill C-Park spot where you can lay down. Good one to end the weekend.
