Yuyintown CUBE and then at the bigger, more spacious Modernsky Lab. At CUBE, he’ll perform his latest album Guitar in full, along with a selection of classic hits, bringing his intimate, playful, and unfiltered stage presence to the city. Much like his newest leisurely and tender new album, expect a more intimate showcase. At Modernsky, he’ll have his full band, a regular set with all the classics—Chamber of Reflection, My Kind of Woman - a much looser, janglier, and effortlessly chaotic set. Expect a mix of lo-fi charm, humor, and heartfelt moments - the cult singer-songwriter doing what he does best.

Metal safe haven FENRIR celebrates their first year since being ‘berthed unto Shanghai’ with a big ol’ two day ‘liver destroying fest full of ferocious live bands, killer DJs, and a whole lotta party.’ Night one features the ‘return of INFERNO’ with three bands who rose from the ashes (again and again) of infamous metal hangout Inferno. On the docket, you’ve got power rockers Doppler Drive, psych core metal act Chimera Cult, and heavy metal renegades Litium - all followed by DJs 3WOOD, Extreme John, HUAHUA, and KEII. Night two gets even wilder with an unholy mix of genres. On the docket, you’ve got crossover thrash kings Kill All Posers, J-pop act RanChuMu, X-JAPAN riffing visual kei metal act Blue Blood - as well as underground idol acts EobiontX and KINNARA IDOL and DJ Gouachi. Expect a riotous good time.

Poo Platter is a full-course meal of funk-laced spiritual jazz - a bubbly mix of 60s soul, jazz, funk, and more - a busy yet fluid pastiche of personalities and sounds that feels both retro and novel. Chill as a cucumber and the perfect soundtrack for these frigid times, the band, fresh off their new EP, Undercurrent, will be hitting up JZ Club, kicking off their nationwide tour. Truly wondrous music laced with warm, delicate, and moving melodies, along with many improvisational arrangements - creating a soulful, introspective, and flowing musical atmosphere.

Franco-Swiss musical collective, The BIG TUSK are a quartet that takes electro fusion jazz to new heights. Channels its Gen-Y roots into an electrifying alchemy of hypnotic electro, raw grunge energy, and pop-rock lyricism - their music is infused with boundless spontaneity and sonic imagination - taking inspiration from groups like Knower or Cabaret Contemporain, as well as more unconventional acts like Aphex Twin, Mr. Oizo, and Kurt Cobain, forging their own identity that transcends genre. Color me intrigued.

Polish hellraisers Behemoth have been going strong for over thirty years - becoming "a leading light in the Polish metal scene’ in the process. Blackened death metal from Gdańsk, the band is spearheaded by Adam Darski, aka Nergal – a personification of rebellion, individuality, and unflinching self-expression, which even got the dude on trial for blasphemy and a spot on The Voice of Poland. With live shows described as a "theater of darkness," expect an immersive pummeling experience. Support comes in the form of the mysterious Nidhogg - a neofolk black metal fusion act.
