As creative and new media industries gain greater traction here in Shanghai, look for more local artists and creative producers to go independent, stepping outside of the corporate fray in order to pursue and communicate their own unique vision. CaoShangFei (CSF) Visual Concept are a local creative duo formed by Marco Zhu, 25 year-old designer, and Sammi Si, a graphic artist/designer. CSF recent projects include fixed installations as well as live Audio/Visual (AV) productions. Their current project for Tiger Translate is a showcase for local creative media production sponsored by Tiger Beer. CSF roots trace back to 2000/01 as Marco began projecting visuals at club nights and parties for his musician-friends' shows. His foundation in music carries through today as he scores the original compositions and music for CSF projects. He grew along the club scene and eventually landed a big gig running the visuals for the Paul Oakenfold trance show 2004.
