A wicked space, Creative Shanghai, has already been open for two years and is now housing the Satellite exhibition running until Sep 23rd, organized by the space itself and Vanguard Gallery. This place is huge and so understandably it's also a fair way out of the city, on Yangshupu Lu. Creative Shanghai deliberately keeps an appearance that seem "unfinished" to the eye; effortlessly lovely, albeit creepy in a few areas (dark, hidden corners encased in cobwebs and protruding bits coming up from the floor). In short, it's remarkable, and I suggest you take at least one trip past Yangpu Bridge before the weather spoils the open-air wonder of it. The whole place smells faintly of a wonderous mixture of dampness, chemicals, and chocolate. Just remember some repellent - the moquitoes thrive there.
