Oct 25, 2017 | 11:06 Wed
If you've got kids in Shanghai and are looking to instill in them one of Halloween's finest traditions and life lessons -- it's totally fine to ask strangers for candy -- here's four children's parties happening on Saturday. The first two feature some trick or treating. Plus a Halloween party for your pets! I don't have kids but I've got cats. Pretty much the same, eh?

This Saturday is the third annual Haunted Yuyuan Road trick-or-treat event, running from 12pm to 6pm. Wear your costume and bring the kids for door-to-door trick or treating at over 10 of the restaurants, cafes, and bakeries on the street complete with Halloween candy straight from America -- where they invented candy. The whole street with be decorated for Halloween. This will be a fun event for kids, families, and adults of all ages. Trick or treating will be on Yuyuan East road, just a few minutes walk from the Jingan Temple and in between Changde Lu and Tongren Lu. Participating venues: CinnaSwirl, Co. Cheese, Lanna Coffee, Le Souhait, Carr Salon, Roasters Café, Porky’s, EDR, and Gyoka Sushi.

Meanwhile, a couple blocks away, all of Dagu Lu is celebrating Halloween, with a kids trick or treat event on earlier in the day and more adult festivities later on. 11am to 4pm, participating stores are doing goodie bags for kids plus activities. Click on the jump to see the flyer and participating venues. After 4pm, it's a pub crawl for adults -- finish the circuit and get a free shirt. See the flyer for the participating outlets. So... maybe get the kids out of the way by then. Good place to start is The Caxton who are doing a kids Halloween brunch and also participating in the trick or treat route.
