Shanghai’s special STD hospital in Changning has been popular due to lower than private hospital prices and smaller crowds compared to other general public hospitals. We went last year and paid 780rmb, including a 25rmb doctor’s consultation fee. Another major selling point used to be anonymity, but now your passport and phone number are required when registering. The full set price from last year is 730rmb, or if you want to order a la carte the HPV test is 300rmb, herpes 120rmb, HIV is 60rmb, chlamydia is 60rmb, and gonorrhea is 30rmb. The male testing method is drawing blood and a swab up the urethra to test secretion. Results need to be picked up in-person 3-5 days afterward.
