For the next six days Senses are teaming up with the Shanghai branch of the SCAA (Second Chance Animal Aid), to bring you a hefty selection of excuses to drink yourself stupid while feeling good that you're doing something for a more-than-worthy cause. All events are free entry, all that is required of you is that you make a donation to the charity. They generously affirm that you can donate anything from one kuai to a big fat cheque.. we suggest you dig deep if you can. Tuesday starts things off with free wine from 6:30pm-8:30pm to tempt the nose of any budding connoisseurs. Your sense of smell having been caressed sufficiently you can spend Wednesday with nose closed and eyes open as you catch sight of the final two Fosters barrels drained dry by the baying mob from 6:30 until it vanishes. Thursday encourages you to engage your ears and hear the arrival of San Miguel and the beginning of an inevitable free-for-all as from 6:30pm-9pm San Miguel costs nothing. If you are still able to move and your palette has any nerves left then on Friday you are welcome to taste some Australian wines from Penbro, and of course they're free between 6:3pm and 8:30pm, with deals thereafter. The penultimate event in this sensual journey is a hands on Martini fest so get stuck in to try to create the best Martini Shanghai will ever... touch. Martinis are free between 7pm-9pm and with 20 different vodkas to choose from, so your options are far from limited.
