Changning District's Civil Affairs Bureau is packing up and moving to its new home on Xingfu Lu 50, starting December 22, and yes, "Xingfu" literally means "happiness," which feels pretty spot-on for a place where people go to get married. (It's also somewhere people call it quits, breaking up on "Happiness Road" is its own kind of poetic.)
We stopped by the new spot today, and the whole building is washed in soft pinks, with indoor photo corners and an outdoor pastel staircase in pink and baby blue that basically begs for wedding day photos. Even the nearby Huashan Green Spacehas a pink-ish makeover, and there's a cute "幸福" graffiti tucked in a corner, just in case couples need one more lucky sign.
The old Jinzong Lu location will keep a temporary window open from December 19 to 30 before fully closing marriage and adoption registration after December 31. The new Xingfu Lu office will soft-open from December 22 to 31 for appointment-only services, and everything officially goes live on January 1, 2026, when full marriage and adoption registration begins.
