Esenes Worldwide has made a handbag that looks like a soup dumpling. Not dumpling-adjacent. Not "inspired by." It's basically a xiaolongbao with a strap.
The bag takes its cues from the pleated folds and gently sagging shape of the real thing, with a rounded, slightly uneven silhouette that feels intentionally imperfect. It's crafted from translucent leather in a pale, cooked-dough yellow, so light passes through the thinner folds at the top and gives it that just-steamed glow. Each one creases a little differently, so no two are exactly the same, like an actual dumpling, just without the pork.
Inside, a canvas lining printed in green and beige suggests chopped filling. It's subtle but clearly meant to be funny. Your daily essentials sit inside like stuffing, and as they press outward, the surface forms soft wrinkles and bulges that make it feel more sculptural than gimmicky.
They made 150 of them, launching February 20, 2026. It's still available, in case you've been waiting for the right moment to carry a dumpling around town.
