For real Christmas trees in Shanghai, flower and bird markets are still your best bet. We checked out two of the bigger ones: Hongqiao Flower & Bird Marketin Puxi andShuangji Flower Market in Pudong.
Puxi:
Hongqiao Flower & Bird Market
If you live in Puxi and want full Christmas vibes, Hongqiao is the place to go. It's big, busy, and packed with everything from small potted fir branches (around 25rmb) and tabletop trees (from about 80rmb) to wreaths, decorations, and full-size trees. Larger trees can easily hit 1,000–2,000rmb. Bargaining is part of the process here, so ask around and don't take the first price too seriously.
Pudong:
Shuangji Flower Market
Shuangji Flower Market feels much calmer and less Christmas-heavy, which actually works if you're based in Pudong. The selection is smaller, but there are still some trees and decorations to choose from. For Christmas items, turn right after entering. The left side is mostly orchids, and they're worth a look.
Other Places
You'll also find Christmas trees at small flower shops around the city. They're convenient, especially if you don't want to make a trip to a market, but prices are around 300–500rmb for a small tree, with no Christmas vibes included.
Neither market is especially close to the metro (roughly a 20-minute walk), so if you're buying anything bigger than a tabletop tree, taking a Didi or driving will make life much easier.
