Fresh from Asia’s Java Jazz Festival, the Austrian Alexandra Ivanova Trio makes their Shanghai debut with a performance blending modern European jazz with global influences. From Balkan rhythms to Middle Eastern modes and cinematic European textures, this is a sonic journey that spans continents and cultures.
Alexandra Ivanova Trio delivers a night of evocative original jazz compositions interwoven with interactive improvisation. Piano & Composer: Alexandra Ivanova

Austrian-born pianist and composer with Bulgarian heritage, raised across France, Middle East, and the Gulf. Self-taught in jazz, she blends Balkan, Middle Eastern, and jazz harmonies into her cinematic compositions. She has performed at international festivals, received scholarships and residencies, and is praised as “fluent and inventive” by All About Jazz.
Bass: Judith Ferstl

Austrian bassist and composer based in Vienna. She combines jazz, folk, and improvisational music, collaborating on multiple projects across Europe and Latin America.
Drums: Axel Filip

Argentinian drummer and composer based in Berlin. His work merges contemporary jazz, experimental sounds, and song-based forms. He performs internationally and has received support from national arts funds and residencies.
