The self-pronounced leading art fair dedicated to photography and digital artworks in Shanghai, PHOTOFAIRS, is happening this weekend at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.
Its downtown presence has been missed these past few years and while we’re happy it’s back, it’s on the whole a little underwhelming compared to previous editions. Despite it being a fair for “digital artworks”, for instance, there’s nary a mention of AI despite the technology currently completely revolutionizing the digital art world.
Isn’t that… a little strange?
At any rate, they’ve got quantity; more than 30 local and 20 international galleries, institutions, and publishers are represented. If you're interested in photographic art, it's one to check out, despite the maybe a bit pricey entry fee of 120rmb.
