Sad news on the Shanghai cookies front. Lovely cookies shop window Strictly Cookies on Xiangyang Lu is set to close their window on September 30, after failing to dissuade their neighbors, a hair salon called Tao Hair, from said salon's plan of world hair domination. Strictly Cookies still has another cookie window going, however, at 1166 Yan An Xi Lu, and "are close to securing" another window "in an even more central location". They also deliver. I write to you today with slightly bummer but ultimately triumphant news: In a semi hilarious turn of events, Tao Hair has continued its quest for world hair domination and is going to be taking over our Xiangyang Bei Lu cookie window. Despite many attempts to convince them and the landlord to be open to a.) not doing that b.) reconsidering c.) joining forces to launch a new cookie/hair styling synergy concept aka a KOL curated pop up they declined, and are indeed going to be expanding into our space. But fear not! It has been a true dream to operate such an ideal little window shop, and we are very close to securing a similar set up in an even more central area. I would say in around one month (week? perhaps mere minutes? things come together/apart in this city very quickly) we will have another cookie window going.
