Hey fans of bespoke pastry with brand name pedigree, good news: la Boulangerie et Patisserie by Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire (think we're just gonna call it "la Boulangerie et Patisserie") is open today in Jian Ye Li, set into the front of Capella Shanghai. Coffee, tea, and pastries of decent quality available at a not indecent price-point. Pictures and prices after the jump.

*** Brought to you by Pierre Gagnaire himself (see, his name's in the title), this is what it looks like... Nice, right? Marble and dark woody look, very boutiquey, very patisserie. It's got space for maybe 10 people at tables and the counter, it's got big bright windows. Mind that step though. This is what the pastry looks like. Hey, that looks tasty! And it was. Tried the chocolate tart, which was creamy and delicious, as well as the classic pain chocolat. Buttery, chocolatey, wafer-y, boulangerie. The damage looks like it's going to be in the 24-30rmb range for coffee and tea, 15-25rmb for the things with "pain" in it, while the desserts are in the 45-50rmb range. It's open right now, 8am-7pm, from Tuesday to Sunday.
